What is depression?
Depression is a mental illness that can affect just about every aspect of your life. It affects the way that we think, our emotions and how we feel physically. Depression is not a form of weakness and is not something that we can just ‘snap out of’ or will respond to hard work or willpower. It is an illness that requires medical attention and treatment.
If you think you or a loved one is depressed then we can help. At Re-cover, we work with the UK’s top private rehab centres, counsellors and therapists. We can find the best available help today.
Treatment options for depression
Residential rehab centre treatment for depression
Residential treatment can provide clients with a time and space within with they can begin to heal. Patients will be under the care of a psychiatrist who will offer them a psychiatric assessment and monitor their mental health whilst they engage in a psychotherapeutic program. Patients benefit from a number of different therapies, from holistic treatments to psychodynamic counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy and equine therapy. We advise patients on the best options available - considering clinical need, cost and location.
Residential secondary treatment for depression
Secondary treatment or ‘half-way house’ is a ‘step-down’ from primary care. Patients will usually have completed a period of primary care within a residential facility but will not yet be ready to return to the community. Secondary care provides clients with a supported structure within which they can begin to learn new life skills. We can help you to identify if this is going to be something that is appropriate for you or your loved one.
Outpatient treatment for depression
Outpatient treatment options vary from day-care to intensive evening programs. Both provide structured treatment programs which help clients to learn how to manage their depression. Our skilled team are able to provide advice on what might be most appropriate for you or your loved one.
One to one counselling for depression
Individual counselling is possibly the most common form of treatment for depression. Counselling allows clients to explore underlying issues, during which time they learn new coping skills. We work with a large number of different therapists throughout the UK and are able to make confident, informed recommendations. We can put you in touch with people who can help today.
